Case study : Cooper Square MHA Cooperative
Cooper Square Cooperative contains 328 apartments (some with commercial space) in 21 buildings scattered throughout the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Leases ensure long-term affordability for residential and commercial shareholders.
Goldstein Hall worked closely with the NYS Attorney General’s office to ensure approval of this large, scattered-site cooperative. In addition, the firm worked with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development to procure Article XI tax benefits. The firm also handled stock issuances of several hundred individuals.
